However, the reality fell significantly short of the initial promise, leaving a lingering sense of disappointment and frustration. The salon’s atmosphere, described as “warm and inviting,” quickly morphed into a challenging one, marked by inconsistent service and a significant lack of accountability. The core of the issue lies in the manager’s unpredictable pricing practices, culminating in a significant price increase during the same appointment. While the salon touts a “focus on hands,” the execution frequently failed to deliver, resulting in significant nail damage – including a lengthy wait time, improper application, and a disastrous outcome involving a botched pedicure. The technician’s insistence on acrylic nails, despite my request to remain with my natural nails, felt deeply disrespectful and lacked genuine care. Furthermore, the staff's overall professionalism was inconsistent. While some employees demonstrated a genuine commitment to providing excellent service, others seemed detached and unresponsive, failing to adequately address concerns or offer solutions. The lack of clear communication regarding procedures and the absence of a demonstrable process for handling customer complaints created a frustrating and ultimately damaging experience. Ultimately, Modern Nails requires significant improvement in both service quality and staff accountability.
